Four of Poker’s Great Guys


Literally huge amounts of players want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "great guys" of the game. Despite the fact that "nice" is associated with their names when you are sitting accross the table from them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!

Daniel Negreanu

In Two Thousand and Four, his tournament payouts amounted to in excess of 4.4 million dollars and he won 2 highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In Feb Two Thousand and Six he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the decency to talk with his admirers about how they can boost their own game.

Howard Lederer

Known as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an educational video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his total life earnings surpass $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scott is one of the busiest players in poker and from Two Thousand and 2004 he placed in the money in more than 100 tournaments. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career earnings are almost six million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has earned five WSOP titles with two of his successes happening in Two Thousand and Three. Has the nickname "Jesus" because of his characteristic long hair and beard, that, and along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total poker tourney winnings exceeded five million dollars.
