Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players anywhere in the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world might be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen playing online poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in cash games?
