Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the final poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He often competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players in the world may be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen competing in internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes Omaha and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player.
